It was a huge moment of transition for me. My life in New York was taking on a lot of unexpected changes, and my way to take control and gain perspective was to escape to somewhere new. Havana, for me, was easy to fall body and soul in love with; the architecture, the natural beauty, and most importantly the warmth and creativity of its people. I never went a day without someone smiling at me and asking how I was doing with sincerity. This city put me back together and I would like to express my gratitude by giving back and volunteering/making donations of hard to find art supplies, school supplies, and public health supplies to Mualeando and Cuba Libro.
